thoughts from the igloo

Saturday 21st February

Its our Niagara Falls Tour Day. At first we head towards a winery for a supposedly ‘winery tour’ which turns out to be a simple invitation to buy wine. We learn that  Niagara is popular place for producing ice wine – grapes are grown in winter in temperatures of -5 to -20.

We continue our journey to Niagara on the Lake and finally to the famous Falls. Unfortunately we couldn’t take the boat ride due to the bad weather. Instead we take the Journey Behind the Falls – basically it’s a tunnel which takes you down right beside the falls. An excellent spot to take photos but each picture entailed a lot of pain….my hands just couldn’t take the cold!!

Then we’re out on the promenade near the falls for some more photos.  We got all wet and we were absolutely freezing but it was worth it to see the falls…..
